Pedal board: Parallel flat. It appears original.
Balanced mechanical swell pedal. May have been fitted later.
Console: En fenetre .
Angled drawstop jambs.
Pine panelling adjacent to the console features the prominent swirled grain.
Some architectural casework features in the pipe towers.
Tonally, the organ is a joy. All ranks win the ear. The Diapasons are well regulated. The Great Flutes are firm and clear. Swell strings, separately and in combination, are rich with a quiet edge. The Swell Oboe, though gentle, is appealing. Well furnished with upper partials produced by voicing. Most ranks extend the full manual compass. Overall, a very clear tutti .
Mechanically, there is running in the upper octaves of both Swell and Great. A recent close inspection has discovered some poorly seated, twisted pallets. The iron action wires are corroded and there is play in the roller board pivot points. A dozen or so notes on the lower Great do not work, and the pedals are not all working. The organ needs major repair.
This is a most attractive organ, and a real pleasure to play. After full remedial overhaul, it would amply accompany a congregation of 200 and perform much of the - at least romantic - organ repertoire. It is locally a respected musical instrument.
